Are your bags packed with all your essentials and more? Are all your important travel documents safely stored in your hand luggage? If so, it sounds like you’re all set and ready to get on the plane! However, be sure to check out our helpful airport guide first, which is designed to take the stress out of checking in.
Ever stood in a long queue in a crowded airport, waiting to check-in? The start of your journey gets really tiresome and leaves you with less time to browse duty-free this way. Now you can check-in easily by using an online check-in facility. Most airlines have them and they are really straightforward to use.
As online check-in tends to open 24 to 48 hours before your flight departure, you can check-in well in advance, and from the comfort of your own home. If you decide to wait until you get to the airport, you can still use the online facility, but it will close two hours before an international flight and 90 minutes before a domestic departure.
Having checked in online, you’ll need to print your boarding pass. If you don’t have a printer at home, you can print your boarding pass at a self-service kiosk at the airport. These are generally well signposted.
Unfortunately, you cannot use the online facility if you are travelling with pets, have excess baggage, or a visa that needs to be verified.
