About Qantas Airways

Australia’s largest airline, Qantas, has an impressive fleet size, flying to a vast number of destinations. Nicknamed 'the Flying Kangaroo', this airline is also highly regarded throughout the world.

Founded in 1920, Qantas is the world's third oldest airline. It began flying domestically between Queensland and Darwin. By 1935, international flights to Singapore were introduced and proved very popular. Qantas planes were subsequently used to help with Australia's war effort during World War 1.

In 2018, Qantas launched its Dreamliner service, providing the first non-stop flights from Perth to London, with a record-breaking journey time of 17 hours. It has since added several more long-haul flights to its schedule.

Qantas alone flies to 27 international destinations in 14 countries, although its additional subsidiary airlines fly to a great deal more.

Known for its superior first-class and business-class services, the airline was voted as the 8th best in the world in 2019.
