About Singapore Airlines

Singapore Airlines is the country's flag carrier airline, operating out of its major hub at Singapore's Changi Airport. Considered to be a luxury airline, the company prides itself on customer service, and it has received numerous awards and accolades since its formation in 1966. Indeed, Skytrax has ranked it as the best airline in the world, four times.

The airline is also routinely recognised for its environmentally friendly credentials and is well known for its cabin crew, who feature in many of the brand's advertisements. The company is owned primarily by the Singapore government, although it retains a large amount of independence rather than state control.

As of 2020, the airline operated scheduled flights to 62 destinations in 32 countries around the world. It was the first commercial airline to fly the Airbus A380, which is the world's largest passenger-carrying aircraft. It has also operated one of the longest nonstop flights in the world, on its route between Singapore and Los Angeles.
