Med-View Airline - VL is a Nigerian airline based in the capital city of Lagos. It began life in 2007 as a charter airline. It was principally founded to provide flights to the Hajj, the annual Islamic pilgrimage to Mecca in Saudi Arabia. It has offered domestic passenger flights since 2012.


Med-View Airline was listed on the Nigerian Stock Exchange at the end of January 2017. Between November 2017 and June 2018, it laid off 90% of its employees. It is believed to owe existing and sacked workers 1.5 billion Nigerian Naira in salary arrears, pensions and compensation.


It previously operated nine domestic services across Nigeria and nine international services to Europe and the Middle East as well as West Africa. These included a regular flight to London Gatwick Airport. In 2018 it operated a fleet of 8 aircraft.


It is currently banned from operating flights to Europe and in August 2019 it shut down all operations.

Flyers can check-in at the airport and online.

Online Check-in:

Check-in online 24 hours before departure. It closes 3 hours before departure.   

Airport Check-in:

Airport check-in service is available 3 hours before departure and closes 30 minutes before departure for domestic flights. It has suspended international and regional flights.

Passengers are required to provide a confirmed itinerary/booking reference and a valid identification card with an affixed photograph of the traveller.

Passengers late for check-in (arrives later than check-in recess) may be denied boarding.

Economy Class passengers are offered snack packs of pastries, biscuit, candy and orange juice. Her Business Class flyers enjoy any of the local Nigerian meals and beverages.

Med-View operates both Economy and Business Classes. The airline constantly strives to offer her passengers a comfortable in-flight experience, though it has been hit with poor reviews and aviation safety assessment in the past.

Business Class cabins are clean and well maintained. 

The Blue Flyer loyalty programme is being renewed and will be re-launched shortly. There used to be three tiers of the programme, each intended to reward frequent flyers with miles that could be exchanged for a ticket, eventually.

Med-View will convey some of your baggage without charges. The airline’s free baggage allowance varies and is indicated on your ticket. You can always ask the airline of authorised agents for details.

Checked Luggage:

Medview’s standard baggage allowances for Economy Class travellers (domestic routes) is 23kg per bag. Checked-in luggage allowance for Business Class (domestic route) is 40kg per bag. The Blue Flyer members may get extra baggage allowance (please note the programme is temporarily suspended).

Infants & Children:

Infants pay 10% of the accompanying adult passenger airfare. Children between 2 years and under 12 years pay 75% of the adult fare. Passengers may contact the airline for Infant baggage allowance
