Holland Boulevard offers passengers an impressive experience with the Dutch culture before they leave the airport. The famous Rijksmuseum features 17th-century Dutch paintings that leave you wondering if you are in an airport, while the nearby library offers a collection of Dutch writers. The works are translated into over 40 languages.
The airport has plenty of cafes, bars, and restaurants that are local and independent-minded. You can sample food options such as traditional Dutch, Chinese, Japanese, American, Irish, Italian, and more. Do not forget to visit the Heineken Bar for a taste of the local brew.
You can pass on time by taking a stroll across the airport. For passengers with an hour to spare, they can take the bus tour called Schiphol Behind the Scenes and see the fire station and working aircraft hangers.
