Dubai International Airport is located in Old Dubai’s Al Garhoud District, about 20minutes from Jumeriah Beach. Its official opening was in 1960 and in the 1980s itwas used as a refuelling point for flights travelling from Europe to Asia. Today, it’s thebusiest airport in the world in terms of international passenger movement and in 2018it served 89.1 million travellers.
Dubai International Airpot (IATA code: DXB) is the main hub for flydubai and Emirates,and Terminal 3 is shared exclusively by Emirates and Qantas. Terminals 1 and 3 areconnected by a transit area whilst Terminal 2 sits on the opposite side of the airport.DXB also serves airlines including British Airways, Cathay Pacific, Singapore Airlinesand Air France.
Travelling to the city is convenient and fast with the airport located just five kilometresfrom the centre. Taxis take just 15 minutes and the Dubai Metro departs from Terminal 3,dropping you off at Burj Khalifa Dubai Mall Metro Station in just 24 minutes.

Before you leave the Dubai International Airport, get a message at any of the airport’s spas. Some of the spas offer passengers manicures, facials, reflexology, and massages. These treatments prepare you for your flight and give you time to relax.
For passengers who have a short layover in the airport, or those whose flights got delayed or cancelled, taking a nap in a sleep n’ fly pod can ease their stress. Each of these pods comes with a blanket, mattress, disposable headrest cover, pillow, and sheet.
The airport has a dedicated business lounge in Concourse C equipped with work areas for you to conduct your business, including shower facilities to refresh. The Emirates lounges in the Terminal 3 departure concourses and other business-class lounges can be used for business.

The Dubai Airport allows arriving passengers to move across the airport between the terminals and concourses, a shuttle service is available. It takes about 20 minutes to move from Terminal 1 to Terminal 2, and about 30 minutes to get to Terminal 3 from Terminal 1.
