Newark Liberty International Airport is one of the major airports that service the New York area. It is set just across the state line between New York and New Jersey, and its proximity to the Big Apple makes it a highly popular airport, with an annual passenger count approaching 50 million.
The airport has a rich and detailed history. It is set on reclaimed land which was once a part of Newark Bay, and once used as a logistics base where captured German aircraft were dropped off for further analysis across the country. Newark International Airport (as it was called at the time) was returned to public use in 1946.
EWR has a great level of infrastructure, with three runways and three terminals, meaning that even the highest levels of traffic aren’t an issue for the airport. In collaboration with a monorail system and a Marriott Hotel, this airport has enough to cover your every need.
