Kigali international airport is the primary airport serving the capital city of Rwanda. The airport is some eleven-minute shuttle ride to the Kigali Convention Centre. The hub of RwandAir, one of the prominent carriers in Sub-saharan Africa, its main terminal is vastly a work in progress with limited facilities.

There are three VIP lounges in Kigali international airport - two in the departure terminal and one for passengers on arrival. Visit the bars and restaurants in the main lobby and the boarding area. They offer varieties of foods, fast-food sandwiches, drinks or mineral waters. There are a collection of many other outdoor restaurants in the airport area. Bourbon House Coffee has two outlets within the airport. They pride themselves in the best varieties of Arabica coffee beans you’ll ever find in the whole of Rwanda.
Visit the several shops within the airport terminal and stock up on souvenirs, handcards, and ready-to-wears amongst others. There are shops available both in the international duty free zone and in the public halls. The ones in the departure lounge and specifically heavy on Rwandan handicrafts and souvenirs. The Viva Duty-free is ideal for your alcohol, tobacco, cosmetics, perfumes, food, and souvenirs.

Moving between the main terminal (a two-story building), the two helicopter pads and a cargo terminal happens on airport shuttles. You can meet drivers in their designated areas available round the clock.
