Milan Linate Airport is located in the suburbs of Peschiera Borromeo and although
compact, it has the advantage of being the closest to the centre of the Italian city of Milan. Constructed in the 1930s and rebuilt in both the 50s and 80s, its original name was Airport Enrico Forlanini, in homage to the Italian aeronautical pioneer of the same name.
Due to its popularity, which sees some 8.3 million passengers pass through its two runways each year, only domestic and international flights from inside the EU arrive here and it serves airlines including British Airways, Air France and Scandinavian Airlines.
Milan Linate Airport (IATA code: LIN) is only 8 kilometres from Milan’s city centre and by taxi it takes just 15 minutes. Travelling by bus is also convenient and only takes 30 minutes. 2020 has seen a complete reconstruction of one of the runways and, with its aim to be finished in 2021, it will create the ultimate European city experience when flying into Milan.
