Munich Airport is the international airport for the German region of Bavaria. In terms of passenger numbers, it's the second busiest airport in Germany and the eighth busiest in the whole of Europe. 2019 saw nearly 48 million passengers pass through the airport.
Located 17.7 miles northeast of Munich, building began in 1980. It opened for the first time in 1992, with all flights from the older Munich-Riem airport being moved to the new location overnight.
79 airlines operate passenger flights to and from Munich Airport-MUC. The most popular destinations are London-Heathrow, Amsterdam and Paris-Charles de Gaulle.
The S-Bahn Railway lines S1 and S8 connect the airport to the city of Munich. The journey to the Marienplatz Station takes around 45 minutes.
A visitors' viewing terrace allows people to watch aircraft landing and taking off. Three historic aircraft are also on display. A supermarket is on-site that opens from 5.30 am to midnight every day, including Sundays.

Inter Terminal Transportation: There is a shuttle bus service between Terminal 1 and 2 for all passengers with connecting flights, departing every 10 minutes. The signage to your connecting gate will guide you to the shuttle bus.
