Yola Airport is located in the town of Jimeta in the state of Adamawa, northeasternbNigeria. The airport is approximately a 30-minute drive from the centre of Yola, Adamawa's capital city. It is a domestic airport and does not offer international flights, serving only the domestic airlines Azman Air, Arik Air and Med-View Airlines.
The airport is known as the gateway to Nigeria's largest nature reserve. It wasvoriginally commissioned in October 1984 to transport fruits around the countryvbut became a fully operational airport in 2002. In 2015, it received 158,896vpassengers and is now accessible via transfer at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport and Murtala Muhammed International Airport.
Like most non-international designated airports in Nigeria, Yola Airport is not permitted to run domestic flights at night except for passenger flights during Hajj, the Islamic pilgrimage to Mecca, as ordered by the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria.
