Abeid Amani Karume International Airport is the only airport serving the Zanzibar archipelago. The airport is situated about 12 minutes drive to the historic city centre. It is the hub of ZanAir, the most preferred airline option for travelling in and out of Zanzibar. A few international airlines, including Kenya Airways, and Qatar Airways, fly directly to the ZNZ.

You don't want to miss the magnificent view of the airport surrounding. Some 35 kilometres from Tanzania's mainland, the island has dozens of hotels, opulent parks, lush little farms and vines.
Give yourself a treat in one of two separate VIP Lounges within Terminal 2. Both lounges offer complimentary gourmet snacks, with televisions, and comfy chairs. Waiting at the airport is worth looking forward to in any of the facilities.
A handful of shops sell unique souvenirs and hand-crafted goodies within the terminal. Several cafes/restaurants circle the vicinity of the airport, with plenty of on-site goodies to try out.
