Amman weather and food are both huge draws to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. A city of over four million people, where local housing replenishes hillsides and sunsets are golden. The capital of Jordan has seven cabals (hills) that initially made up the city. The Jabal Al Taj neighbourhood punctuates the eastern skyline and, in a golden hue, lights up the city as the sun sets in its western horizon.
The city is a scenic base for exploring not just Jordan but many of the Arab countries in the Levant region of Western Asia. It has a well-organised contrast of the old and new, including open-air souks and modern shopping malls and an impressive list of 5-star hotels. Amman went from being a city of mere three circles (traffic roundabouts) to adding five more. The bustling metropolis comes alive at night, downtown.
You get to see it and its activities from different perspectives. Whether driving on paved avenues or state of the art highways, some of its roads could be very steep. Colourful fruits and vegetable markets fill the back streets. In any event, there are many things to see and do in the city.
