The Isla Verde is also renowned for its nightlife with quirky beach bars, glamorous casinos, as well as the Viejo San Juan - both a fortress and very sophisticated cocktail venue. If you prefer a more unique experience, a trip to the Bahia Bioluminiscente is also advised after sunset. As well as a glittering view of the starry constellations, the sea comes to life due to the presence of a rare type of algae, which causes the water to glow a natural deep blue.
