If you'd like to see rhinos, hippos and interesting birdlife then Zimbabwe is the ideal destination to head to. This landlocked country is located in southern Africa and well known for its fantastic scenery and amazing wildlife.
On the Zambezi River, Victoria Falls is a sight not to be missed. The Falls, now a UNESCO World Heritage site, drop into the Batoka Gorge from a 108m drop. Try whitewater rafting or bungee jumping to get your adrenalin going. If art is your thing, Zimbabwe is famous for wood carving, pottery, basket ware, jewellery and stone carving. There are many street markets where you could buy a memento to take home with you. The most popular food you can try here is Nhedzi soup, which is made from wild mushrooms. Or you could go for a local dish made from ostrich, warthog or crocodile meat. Chicken and rice served with coleslaw is another meal worth trying.
