Columbia, officially named the Republic of Colombia, is a country located in South America, with some territories in North America. Columbia has a rich and diverse cultural heritage. The majority of Colombians speak Spanish, though around 850,000 Colombians speak native languages, including Romani and Creole.

Columbia is surrounded by the Caribbean sea to its north, Panama to its northwest and Ecuador and Peru in the south. To the east of the country is Venezuela, to the southeast Brazil and to the west the Pacific. The ethnic diversity of Columbia is influenced by its neighbouring countries and the various civilisations that have settled in Columbia. Columbia is home to a number of bustling and vibrant cities including Bogota and Medellin. The country also boasts some exquisite landscapes and natural beauty including theTayrona National Natural Park and Cocora valley. As Columbia has the 2nd highest biodiversity on the globe, tourists can enjoy a rangeof landscapes, including deserts, highlands and rainforests.
