Your guide to Sharm El Sheikh

Located on the Sinai Peninsula on the southern coast of the Gulf of Aqaba, Sharm El Sheikh is Egypt’s purpose-built town for diving and seaside relaxations. The beach sits at the edge of the desert, which makes the landscape seem surreal, and almost like another planet.

It has some of the best diving in the world with colourful reefs and shipwrecks, like the SS Thistlegorm, creating homes for exotic fish species. Visitors should also take the opportunity to visit the desert and get to know the Bedouin tribes that still live in the area, or visit the Monastery of St Catherine. There are also beautiful landscapes to explore, including the famous Mount Sinai where Moses received the ten commandments. Adrenalin junkies can also find go-karting, horseback riding, and safaris in the area.
