Delta Air Lines Inc, known as Delta, is an American airline based in Atlanta, Georgia, US.

Delta is one of the largest carriers in both the US and the world, and a legacy carrier, fulfilling routes that existed before the deregulation of air travel in the United States.

Starting out as the world's first commercial aerial crop dusting operation under the name Huff Daland Dusters, Inc, in 1925, the airline now operates 5,400 daily flight to 325 destinations in 52 countries, across six continents.

Delta's hubs include Atlanta, Boston and Chicago, and its fleet of 913 aircraft also includes cargo planes. Delta code shares with hundreds of airlines and also has child companies and joint ventures across both the Americas and the world, including alongside Aeromexico, Korean Air and Air France-KLM.

Delta employs around 80,000 people globally, is part of the SkyTeam air alliance and is listed on the United States' Fortune 500 index.

Online check-in service opens 24 hours before a scheduled flight departure time.

Airport Check-in:

There are self-service kiosks available at select airports for check-ins. Passengers may check-in at the airline’s counters up to 30 minutes before scheduled flight departure time (most domestic flights) and one hour before departure time (international flights.

Cabin classes

Delta Air Lines offers Economy, Premium Economy, Business and First Class cabins.

Economy Class:

Amenities depend on the class of seats you have purchased. This could include a fantastic selection of snacks, affordable Wi-Fi (with complimentary access to in-flight messaging), and Delta Studio (screening diverse entertainment), in Basic Economy Class.

Premium Economy:

Passengers receive enhanced services, seat selection, and entertainment at a reduced fee on the Main Cabin fare. Those on Comfort+ get premium meals and snacks, and larger seats with increased legroom are much enhanced compared to offerings on Main Cabin. They also receive complimentary priority boarding.

Business Class:

Offers the best possible in-flight experience, with optimum dining, entertainment, and customer service. The cabin class provides its passengers with complimentary beverages and gourmet food, Delta Studio's in-flight entertainment, and noise-cancelling headset. The passengers can also enjoy 180-degree flat-beds set with direct aisle access, Deluxe skincare products, amenity kits, and power sockets.

First Class

Passengers enjoy personalised service and Delta Sky Club lounge access, and all the services from Business Class.

Baggage information

Hand Luggage:

Passengers are permitted one piece of carry-on baggage not more than 115cm of total dimensions, and one small personal item. There are no weight restrictions on carry-on baggage on most of the routes except destinations like Singapore (7kg), Beijing (10kg) and Shanghai (10kg).

Checked Luggage:

Checked luggage size must not exceed the maximum dimensions of 157cm for all passengers. Basic Economy, Main Cabin and Delta Comfort+ passengers are allowed 23kg. First Class, Delta Premium Select and Delta One passengers' checked baggage must not weigh over 32kg.

Infants and Children:

Infants are allowed 10kg of baggage with a maximum outside dimension of 45 inches, plus one checked fully collapsible stroller or push-chair. An Infant in arms on a Transatlantic (TATL) Basic Economy Fare is not eligible for a free baggage allowance. Children travelling on a ticket that is 50% or more of the adult fare, are entitled to the standard baggage allowance.
